Shortly after building a extra long out-feed table for my Powermatic my son and his college buddies discovered it provided a nice spot for beer pong. All good fun but... ...beer tends to spill. The 4X4 pictured is part of a milling order for a nice couple that won $360 million in the lottery. They are building a house here on San Juan and can afford very high quality wood that I get hired to cut. The spilt beer? Well 'the morning after' one beer binge night I was setting up to cut this pile of very clear, very expensive old growth cedar when I moved the Biesemeyer fence and discovered stale beer lurking beneath. The kids were kind enough to wipe up but didn't wipe under the fence. Well the Biesemeyer's plastic coated plywood sides soaked up that beer and swelled, creating a uneven surface on an otherwise perfectly straight guide. Can't have that. Years ago I was given a 12 foot sail-makers straight edge made out UHMW. I cut two pieces (blue) and replaced the wonky plywood, a worthy upgrade for the bitchin Biesemeyer. Spilt beer no longer an issue.
