our logs come from private land owners participating in state agricultural stewardship programs. the land owners benefit from lower property taxes in return for selective timber harvests. this promotes maintaining a healthy forest while harvesting/thinning sick or blown down trees or simply taking down a tree here and there while leaving the largest healthiest trees to maintain the canopy.
