i don't know about you but if i'm on the road and can take an extra hour side trip for oysters i will do so. kumamoto, virginica, shigoku, olympia oysters in those four icey tubs. shit-oh-dear. that fridge has some bad-ass items lurking inside too, perhaps the most impressive being a geoduck the size of my lower arm. i ate a oyster sampler on the spot and yes a small pocket knife (with locking blade) will suffice as a shucking tool. and once again the tiny olympia's were my fav's, the briney liquid i can only describe as iron-y in a superlative way. took home a 5 pound sack of tiny manilla clams. evidently they raise them in pea gravel "cause they breath better." whateva. we're having guests tonight. and i've got a healthy bay plant and some thriving chives to throw in with some white wine and butter.
the real purpose of my trip to america was my son's first lacrosse game of the season. here they are celebrating their victory while i prove that having a good camera does not necessarily mean good foto's.
